Accessibility
Obcuts aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This page says where we have got to, and what we have not yet checked.
What is in place
- Every text colour is measured against every background it is allowed to appear on, and a pair that has not been measured is not a pair we are allowed to use. The measurements are held in the repository and checked on every build.
- Text and spacing scale continuously with the width of your window rather than jumping at fixed sizes, so a narrow phone gets the whole page rather than a reduced one.
- Every element you can reach with a keyboard shows a visible focus outline, and nothing removes it.
- If your system asks for reduced motion, the site honours it — there is one setting behind every animation, and that request turns it off.
- The page is built from ordinary headings, lists and landmarks, in reading order.
What we have not verified
- There has been no independent third-party accessibility audit. Our checks are our own.
- There has been no formal testing with screen readers, magnification or voice control on real assistive technology. Automated checks do not substitute for that, and we are not claiming they do.
- The store and catalogue are not built yet. This statement covers only the pages that are live today, and it will be re-issued when there is more to cover.
